India rejected claims by Bangladesh’s interim government, reiterated support for free and fair elections, denied misuse of its territory and urged steps to ensure law and order.
New Delhi, Dec. 14, 2025: India has categorically rejected the assertions made by the interim Government of Bangladesh in its press note dated December 14, 2025.
New Delhi reiterated its consistent position in favour of free, fair, inclusive and credible elections in Bangladesh held in a peaceful atmosphere. India also said it has never allowed its territory to be used for activities inimical to the interests of the friendly people of Bangladesh.
It added that it expects the interim government to take all necessary measures to ensure internal law and order, including for the conduct of peaceful elections.
