Poonch, February 8, 2026: The Indian Army organised an Awam Meet at the Marhote Company Operating Base to strengthen coordination and trust with the local community.
The meet was attended by 29 civilians, including Sarpanches, ward members, numberdars and Village Defence Guards (VDGs).
Key issues discussed included drug abuse among youth, Panchayat-related grievances, hardships caused by heavy snowfall and maintenance of dhoks in the area.
The interaction also served as a community outreach platform, allowing residents to share feedback and concerns. The initiative reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to supporting the people of Jammu and Kashmir and working collaboratively for the welfare and development of the region. (Source: PIB)
