Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, is among the best action-packed, and captivating films of the year. Honestly, Akshaye Khanna and Ranveer Singh are the film’s heart and soul, even though every performer gave it their all.
The protagonist of the tale is Indian spy Hamza Ali Mazari (Ranveer Singh), who is on a mission in Pakistan. He joins the gang of well-known Karachi goon Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna), whose reputation is tarnished by blood. In addition to supporting the Baloch community, he assists regional political parties in winning elections. Chief of IB Ajay Sanyal (R. Madhavan) is in charge of the situation from the New Delhi office, but because of the ruling government’s lack of resolve or some of their previous errors, Sanyal fails on a number of fronts, including the hijacking of the Kandahar airliner, the attack on Parliament, and the 26/11 incident in Mumbai. Sanyal offers the PM a number of solutions to get out of this predicament, but only one of them—Dhurandhar—is approved. Sanyal begins his quest to exact revenge on Pakistan for every potential wrongdoing and conspiracies. The story’s climax is its true core, thus one must watch it to find out what occurs at the end.
The portrayal of Rehman Dakait by actor Akshaye Khanna is simply amazing. His nonverbal cues convey more information than the discourse that is presented to him. His speech, gait, and—above all—facial expressions are simply astounding. His performance in “Chhaava” may be remembered by the audience. In addition to him, another star of the movie is Ranveer Singh. His powerful action scenes and energetic body language have a big impression. R. Madhavan’s role as an IB chief is just too good, and his appearance and likeness to Ajit Doval ji are really alluring. Rakesh Bedi, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt have all made a significant impact. The audience is impressed by actress Sara Arjun’s attractive on-screen appearance despite her minor role. Actress Saumya Tandon, who portrayed Rehman Dakait’s wife, has also impressed the audience with her performance. All in all, each artist has tried their hardest.
Although the dialogue, screenplay, and plot are all well-written and powerful, the viewer might be more concerned by the film’s length. The duration of the film is 214 minutes, or around 3 hours and 34 minutes. Because Indian viewers are not accustomed to viewing such a lengthy film, the audience may occasionally become restless despite the film’s strength and engagement.
The soundtrack and film score by Shashwat Sachdev and lyrics by Irshad Kamil are highly appealing and enhance the beauty of the film, even if music does not play a major role in this spy-thriller.
Aditya Dhar’s direction is quite commendable. This movie clearly demonstrates his personality as a director. In terms of historical happenings, he has handled every little detail. The graphic murder scenes give the movie more impact.
Weak-hearted folks are advised not to watch it since there are too many graphic murder scenes and violence is the main focus. If you intend to go to the movies, do not bring children or heart patients. All things considered, this is among the best films of the year, and no Indian should miss it. Why wait, then? Visit the movie theatre closest to you to view it.
