During the conversation, Sarma raised concerns about the difficulties faced by tourists from Assam. He has also directed Assam Minister Atul Bora to monitor the situation and coordinate closely with the authorities to assess the situation on the ground.
In a social media post, Sarma said both states were maintaining communication to restore peace and normalcy at the earliest. He also appealed to all sides to work towards maintaining harmony, friendship and goodwill between Assam and Meghalaya. (Source: PIB)
