NEW DELHI: The Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 passed from parliament. The bill was approved by Parliament with Rajya Sabha voting 128-95 in favor after a 12-hour discussion and in the upper house with 128 votes in favor and 95 against.
The Mussalman Wakf (Repeal) Bill, 2024 was also approved by the Rajya Sabha, which adjourned at 4am on Friday following a 17-hour session. The government has enhanced the bill’s processes, including tribunals, according to Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, who earlier moved the measure for passage in the Rajya Sabha.
